Bismarck, located on the east side of the Missouri River, was formed in 1872 on the land where the Mandan Indians lived, as well as where General Custer and his troops were stationed at Fort Lincoln. This metropolis has been named by Forbes.com as the “ #5 Best Small Place For Business,” by Sperlings as “#1 Least Stressful City,” and by Farmers Insurance as “ #1 Most Secure Place to Live.” Bismarck has created an exceptional way of life for each of its 72,000 citizens, with plenty of room for the many to come.
